Error Message When Trying to Change Colours in Math 7

Are you seeing an error message when trying to change colours for something like Font or Lines or Borders? If you see an error message similar to this when you check the details you need to remove a particular file from the computer before downloading and install Math Resource Studio 7 again:

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path C:\Users\YourProfileName\AppData\Roaming\Schoolhouse Technologies\Math Resource Studio 7\custom_colors.cfg' is denied. Math Resource Studio v.7

You need to locate and remove the file custom_colors.cfg. Here are some steps that can help you locate the file:

  1. See the pictures below. Open File Explorer and navigate to the C drive and the Users folder. Locate and click on your profile name to display the folders. Locate the folder AppData. ***AppData is a hidden folder. Check these details from Microsoft to show hidden folders and files.***
  2. Open AppData, then locate and open the folder Local. When you open the Local folder there will be lots of folders displayed, but look past all the folders and find the file custom_colors.cfg. Delete that file.
  3. Once that is done, close File Explorer, then download the latest build of Math Resource Studio 7 from our website, or from your Customer Care Account on our website if you have purchased the software. Install the Math 7 program.
  4. Once the program is running again, try changing colours. No error message should appear and you should be able to select your preferred colour from the colour picker.
